FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
I've never done therapy before. What actually happens?
You do not need to know what to say or have everything figured out. Early sessions focus on understanding what has been difficult, your history, patterns, strengths, and goals. From there, therapy is tailored to you and may include processing, practical skills, and changes that support lasting growth.
How do I know what type of therapy I need?
We will figure that out together! Whole Healing Clinics uses an integrative approach, which means we select therapy approaches based on the person rather than expecting you to know which model you need.
What if I've tried therapy before and it didn't help?
Tell us about it. Knowing what felt useful, what did not, what you liked about previous therapy, and what you wish had been different gives us valuable information about how to approach treatment this time.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends on your goals, symptoms, circumstances, and what you want from treatment. We regularly review progress and discuss where therapy is going. Some people benefit from shorter term treatment while others choose longer term therapy.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. Whole Healing Clinics currently provides psychotherapy and does not prescribe psychiatric medication.
Medication can be very helpful for many people. When appropriate, we can encourage you to speak with a qualified prescriber and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals involved in your treatment.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is an important part of therapy. There are limited situations in which therapists may be legally or ethically required to disclose information, including certain safety concerns and circumstances required by law. These limits are explained in your intake paperwork and can be discussed at any time.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Whole Healing Clinics accepts several insurance plans. Since benefits vary by plan, please visit our Insurance & Rates page or contact us if you have questions about your coverage.
What if my insurance isn't accepted?
Private pay is available at $125 per session. You can also contact us before scheduling to discuss your insurance and available options.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. Late cancellations and missed appointments may incur a fee, which we will explain before beginning treatment.
